BEDFORD WIN TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH.
The Bedford visited Southwater Club for the top of the table clash on Monday night. And it was the visitors who came away victorious, with a narrow 4-3 win to increase their lead to 2 points.
The night started badly for the visitors. Ed Coombe, Tim Street and Mick O’Neill were defeated 2-1 in the trebles before Matt Peskett and Tim John were turned over by the Hammond brothers, Ashley and Chris.
It was then that The Bedford turned on the style. Tim John was first up in the singles and dispatched Ben Ferguson 2-0.
This was followed by the game of the night with Tim Street being drawn against star player Ashley Hammond. Street took the first leg but struggled to get a double in during the second. Hammond took it to leave the tie poised at 1-1. Street turned the heat up and an 88 finish took the game 2-1. This performance earned Tim the MOM award for the 5th time this season.
Simon Laker continued his bad run of form, losing 2-0 to John Hindle before James Westrip beat Steven Hindle 2-1 to level the match.
Matt Peskett brought the tie home with a 2-1 win over Chris Hammond, leaving the home side in second place, two points behind the leaders.
There were tons for Matt Peskett (4), Tim John (2), Simon Laker (1) and Mick O’Neill (1).
