BEDFORD RUE MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
The Bedford suffered their second defeat of this campaign, again inflicted by The Plough of Lower Beeding.
Hopes were high going into the game after the 7-0 demolition of The Norfolk the previous week, however a succession of missed doubles was to prove costly for the away time.
The night started badly, with Ed Coombe, Tim John and Matt Peskett going down 2-0. This was largely thanks to an excellent individual display from Simon Tunmore although he was well supported by James Ulloa & Tom Potter.
The Bedford drew level thanks to a good display of darts from Simon Laker and Tim Street to beat Steve White and captain Phil Harrison 2-0.
Onto the singles and Mick O’Neill had chances to beat young Tom Potter. Having gone 1-0 up, missed doubles in the second and third legs resulted in a 2-1 defeat.
Tim John levelled things up at 2-2 with a good 2-1 win against Mark Webber in the closest match of the night.
The Plough sealed their win with 2-0 defeats of Simon Laker by Steve White and Matt Peskett by Simon Tunmore.
Tim Street secured a consolation point for the Bedford and with it his 4th Man of the Match award this season. He defeated James Ulloa 2-1.
There were tons for Tim John (2), Matt Peskett (3), Simon Laker (3) and Mick O’Neill (1).
The Bedford remain top of the B Division, thanks to Tim John’s 180.
